Pelotonia 2022: A Ride To End Cancer

August 2022 will mark my 11th year of riding in Pelotonia and fundraising for one goal: to end cancer! Year 10 was brutal – expecting to ride 50 miles I pushed myself despite not being 100% healthy. At the finish line I learned that the course was actually 57 miles and I had pushed through the entire final stretch without stopping…nearly 20 miles. Normally this would not be a huge issue however I later found out that I had pneumonia. Not good. But not nearly as bad as cancer. And that is why we ride. 2021 was also a historic year for our personal fundraising efforts. While Pelotonia as a group surpassed $236,000,000 raised (that’s 236 million dollars!) we can proudly hold our heads high and know that over $20,000 of that came directly from us!

In 2021 our personal fundraising crossed the $20k mark! Thank you all!

Below are photos from my 2021 ride and a video of crossing the Pelotonia finish line (is there a better feeling than all of the love shown at the finish?!) In addition you can click here to read about & see pictures and stories of my previous rides and click here to make a donation to this years ride. Pelotonia is unique in that 100% of donations go directly toward life saving cancer fighting research! (no part of your donation is used for expenses – the sponsors cover all of those!)

In addition, 2021 marks a second departure from my flagship Peloton, Stefanie’s Team of Hope, to re-join the Bath & Body Works Peloton, for basically the only thing that could get me to leave the amazing people at Stef’s team: more money to fight cancer! Bath & Body Works matches fundraising efforts of riders and spouses (me) and for that reason it makes sense to ride with them and double our impact! To put it in simple terms: if you donate $100 to my campaign $200 will go to fight cancer with BBW putting in the extra loot! How sweet! Please consider donating. Any amount is better than zero. Don’t almost give.
