You see someone across the room that you don’t know very well but have met before. Walk over and confidently say hello! Be genuine and listen to what they have to say.
A friend, relative or co-worker is going through a rough time. Ask them how they are doing. Be genuine and listen to what they have to say.
These are two examples of common situations that come up routinely in everyday life where I like to do the unexpected. I like to confront the elephant in the room head-on with a genuine and sincere interest. This simply eliminates the elephant and surprises people by showing them that I care. In situations like these there are always alternative options. Most people prefer the easier route of avoidance because it’s what everyone expects. Don’t be like most people. Be better than others. Do the unexpected.
