At Noon on Thursday, September 19, 2013, the World Series of Poker will officially welcome itself to Ohio. “Shuffle up & deal” will proudly be announced, and cards will be in the air in the first ever World Series of Poker Circuit Event in the 7th largest state in the union.

Let me be the first to say ‘Hello… we’ve been waiting for you!’

Along with countless others, I have been dreaming of WSOP Circuit events in my home state for quite some time. As I’ve previously noted, I greatly enjoy these series as the World Series brand knows how run a quality poker tournament.

Events begin Thursday September 19th and continue through Monday September 30th. The main event is Event 9 and it is a $1,675 re-entry, with Day 1a on Fri 9/27. Day 1b is Sat 9/28 and survivors combine to play Day 2 on Sunday 9/29.

Each day has multiple events, including the Nightly Second Chance tourneys that have been friendly to me over the years.

I have been working on my game in anticipation of this event. I have been studying off the felt, as well as playing at my local Hollywood Casino Columbus. Despite the ridiculousness that is variance in tournament poker, I feel great coming into this series and I have high expectations for myself.

I will be playing as many events as possible and tweeting about it @donniccolo. Here’s to running good!
